I was born in Beijing, China, in the Year of the Monkey, later immigrating to be raised and educated in the United States. Today, I reside in New York City. I believe that the central struggle for all human beings is, and has always been, the pursuit of meaning. But meaning is not an answer found from the suddenly open mouth of the sky; rather, it is a fruit that ripens from the relationship patiently crafted between the spirit of the human and the universe to which it belongs. Art, is easily one of our greatest tools for the chiseling and sculpting of this relationship.
I am a blogger and a multi-media contributor for National Geographic; I represented the United States as a performer for the 2010 World Expo; I have worked as a project manager/artistic director for international artistic exchange events in N. America, Europe, Africa, and Asia; and I am the founder of the Emerging Face of a Nationless World campaign (www.nationlessworld.com), an effort to create a platform to connect communities, worldwide.
